This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 1st generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,
2014 & 2015) Mazda CX-9 crossover SUV in replacing a burnt
out rear cargo area light bulb. Owners of other Mazda vehicles such as the MAZDA2, MAZDA3, MAZDA6, MX-5 Miata, RX-8, MAZDASPEED3, MAZDA5, Tribute SUV, and CX-7 crossover may also find this guide to be helpful. A replacement light bulb for the rear cargo area overhead dome light of a '07-15 Mazda CX-9 is part # DE3175 available from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Phillips, Wagner, PIAA and Eiko. You can also use a brighter compatible DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to replace the trunk / cargo area dome light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver. Insert the blade of the screwdriver in the notch on the lens cover opposite of the On/Off switch and gently pry it out. |
||
|
||
Once the cargo area
light bulb lens cover has been removed, you'll be able to see the old #
DE3175 light bulb. Be careful when you remove the old light bulb. If it was recently turned on, it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. |
||
Remove the old light bulb by pushing out on the metal tab holding it in place.
Push a new #
DE3175 light bulb into the socket. If you are installing an LED bulb and it doesn't work at first, it might be a polarized bulb. Try flipping it around in the socket. |
||
Insert the end of the lens cover closest to the light switch in first and then gently snap the other side into place.
Test the new light bulb by sliding the switch to the "On" position. Then move it to the "Door" position to ensure that it turns on and off when the rear cargo lift gate is opened or closed. For more,
