This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 1st generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,
2014 & 2015) Mazda CX-9 crossover SUV in replacing a burnt
out overhead map light bulb. Owners of other Mazda vehicles such as the MAZDA2, MAZDA3, MAZDA6, MX-5 Miata, RX-8, MAZDASPEED3, MAZDA5, Tribute SUV, and CX-7 crossover may also find this guide to be helpful. A replacement bulb for the overhead map lights is part # DE3175 available from manufacturers such as Sylvania, Eiko, GE, Phillips and others.You can also use a brighter compatible DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to replace the overhead map light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver. Insert the blade of the screwdriver into the notch on the clear lens cover near the light switch buttons and gently pry it out. |

With the lens cover removed, you can release the old DE3175 light bulb from the socket by pushing up on the metal tab. | ||

Push in a new #
DE3175 light bulb into the socket.
You can also choose to use a brighter LED bulb. |

Insert Tabs On Lens Cover |
Test the new light bulb by pushing the On / Off switch. | ||
Snap Cover Into Place |

Replace the lens
cover by first inserting the two tabs located closer to the rear of the
vehicle. Then gently snap the other side of the lens cover closer to the
front of the car into place.
