Footwell Light Bulb Replacement Guide
How to change a burnt out footwell light
bulb in a 3rd generation 2014 to 2020 MINI Cooper with the part number.

This automotive
maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 3rd
generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) MINI Cooper in
changing a burnt out light bulb in the footwell (or "foot well") area near
the kick panel and the center console. Owners of other MINI models or some smaller BMW vehicles such as the Cooper S, "JCW" John Cooper Works, Convertible, Hatch, Clubman, One, One First, One D, Coupe, Roadster, Countryman, Paceman, 3 Series, 318i, 328i, 320i, 323i, 325i, 330i, 340i, 230i, M240i, M2, M3, M4, i3, 228i, 230i, 128i, 135i, Z3, Z4 and Z8 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The original OEM part number for the LED light housing is BMW 7941911-01. The only tool needed to remove and replace the light is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

Pry Out Light Housing |

Insert the blade of
the screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool into the small notch on the rear
edge of the light housing (located closest to you). Gently pry out the light housing from the plastic panel under the glove box. Push in the release tab on the electrical connector before sliding it straight out of its socket. |

The original OEM
LED light is part number BMW 7941911-01. Push the electrical connector straight into the socket on the new light housing. You should feel or hear the connector "click" securely into place. |

Then re-insert the
wires on the front edge of the housing back into the opening. (Closest to
the front of the car.) Gently snap in the retaining clip on the rear edge of the housing (closer to the back of the car). The new light should have turned on immediately when you pushed in the power plug. If it didn't turn on, re-activate the interior lights by pressing the "Unlock" button on the key fob.
