For our
long 12 hour layover in Los Angeles, I chose the Radisson LAX
Airport hotel as our temporary home. Not only is it one of the accommodations closest to the LAX airport, it is also the base of operation for Midway Car Rental. We've spent some time in L.A. before (California Vacation '05), but have never been to Malibu. So we rented a Toyota Prius from Midway for $27.38 and made Point Dume State Preserve our destination for the day. The cost of the Radisson LAX hotel room was $75.65 and friendly lady at the desk gave us a free upgrade to a "Junior Suite" room. It had two bathrooms, a king size Sleep Number bed, two TVs, a comfy couch, a mini fridge, a coffeemaker, two robes, a desk, and a partial view of the airport. |

Some of the other features of the hotel include free WiFi high speed internet, Olympic sized swimming pool, a fitness center, a business center, a concierge service, an airport shuttle every 15 minutes, meeting rooms, a conference center, a nearly 14,000 square foot ballroom, a restaurant, two cocktail lounges, and valet parking (~$22 per night).
The address of the Radisson LAX Airport Hotel is 6225 W. Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045. To reach the staff by phone, call 1-800-395-7046 or (310) 670-9000.
Overall, we enjoyed our very limited amount of time at the Radisson LAX airport hotel. The staff seemed friendly, the bed was comfortable and the location just down the street from the airport terminals was perfect for us. Also, Midway Car Rental is one of the least expensive places to rent a nice new car near LAX.
