How to replace the overhead dome light
bulb in a 2007 to 2011 Toyota Camry with picture illustrated instructions.

This
automotive maintenance "how-to" guide was specifically written to
assist owners of the XV40 generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011) Toyota Camry sedan
in replacing a burnt out overhead dome light bulb. Owners of other similar Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Corolla, Matrix, Yaris, Avalon, Venza, RAV4, FJ Cruiser, Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Tacoma, Sienna, Aurion, IS 250, IS 350, ES 350, GS 350, LS 460, tC, xB, xD, iQ and may also find guide to be helpful. A replacement bulb for the overhead dome light of a 2007 to 2011 Toyota Camry is part # DE3175 from various manufacturers including Sylvania, GE, Wagner, Eiko, Osram and PIAA. You can also use a brighter DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to replace the dome light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry off the translucent lens cover. |

Insert the blade of
the small flathead screwdriver into one of the two notches located on the
side of the lens cover that is closest to the On/Off switch.
Gently pry out the lens cover a bit and then move the screwdriver to the other notch to repeat the process. Only minimal force should be needed to get the dome light lens cover to pop off. |

Press the metal tab located on the left side of the old light bulb outwards to release the bulb from the socket. | |

Push in a new #
DE3175 light bulb into the socket.
It's best to insert the right (passenger) side in first before sliding the other side of the light bulb in past the metal release tab. You can also choose to install a brighter LED bulb. If the LED bulb doesn't work at first, try flipping it around in the socket. |

Slide the On / Off
/ Door switch to the "On" position to test the new dome light bulb.
If it works properly, slide the switch back to the "Door" position so that it will automatically turn on whenever the passenger doors are opened. |

Line up the
translucent plastic lens cover and insert the side closest to the rear of
the vehicle first.
Then gently snap in the other side that goes over the On / Off switch. |
