This automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) Toyota Prius hybrid hatchback in replacing a burnt out overhead dome light bulb or upgrading it to a brighter LED unit.

Owners of the previous 2nd generation 2004-2009 Prius and other Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Yaris, Corolla, Matrix, Camry, Sienna, Avalon, Highlander, RAV4, FJ Cruiser, Venza, 4Runner, Sequoia, Tacoma, Tundra, tC, FR-S, iQ, xD, and xB may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement dome light bulb is part # DE3175 from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko, Putco and PIAA.

You can also use a brighter DE3175 LED bulb.

The only tool needed to replace the dome light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the translucent lens cover.

Push in a new # DE3175 bulb into the dome light socket.

You can also use a brighter LED bulb.

The easiest way to install the bulb is by first inserting the passenger (right) side of the bulb first and then pushing the driver (left) side of the bulb into the hole on the metal tab.
