in the overhead console of a 3rd generation 2011-2016 Toyota Sienna.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and also the
refreshed 2015 & 2016 model years) Toyota Sienna minivan in changing a burnt out
map light bulb in the overhead console. Owners of other Toyota vehicles with similar map light bulb housings such as the Tacoma, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia, RAV4 and Land Cruiser, may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement map light bulb is part number 2825 from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Philips, and PIAA. You may also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 168, 158, W5W, 194 or a compatible LED unit. The only tool needed to replace the bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the translucent plastic lens cover. |

Pull Out Bulb - Rubber Glove |
An optional step is
to cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth to
protect the plastic surfaces from being scratched. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the edge of the translucent lens cover and the overhead console. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket with your thumb and forefinger. If you have trouble gripping the bulb, put on a latex rubber glove. |
