This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and also the revised 2015 & 2016 model years) Toyota Sienna minivan in changing a burnt out second row rear passenger overhead courtesy reading light bulb.

Owners of other Toyota vehicles with similar 2nd row passenger reading light housings including SUVs such as the FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia, RAV4 and Land Cruiser may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement light bulb is part number 2825 from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko, PIAA and Osram.

You may also use any other miniature wedge base bulb such as the # 168, W5W, 158, 194 or a compatible LED unit.

The only tool needed to replace the bulb is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the hinged translucent lens cover.

To help prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of the screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth.

Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the rear edge of the translucent lens cover and the housing.

Gently pry out the lens cover and swing it open towards the front of the vehicle. Don't worry if the hinged lens cover pops out, it can easily be re-inserted later.

Push a new # 2825 bulb straight in to the socket.

You can also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the 168, W5W or 194 or a brighter LED unit.

Press the "On/Off" button to test the new bulb.
