How to change a burnt out fog light bulb in the front bumper cover of a 2nd generation 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma.

This automotive maintenance DIY tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the second generation (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015) Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in changing a burnt out fog light bulb in the front bumper cover.

Owners of other Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Yaris, Matrix, Prius, Camry, Corolla, Sienna, RAV4, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, Sequoia, Hilux, Land Cruiser, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement halogen fog light bulb is part number H11 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA.

If you would like to have brighter fog lights, install some compatible H11 LED bulbs.

No tools are needed to access and replace the light bulbs.

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise

Old Bulb Released
The fog light bulbs can easily be accessed from underneath the bumper cover.

Slide under the front corner of the truck and locate the rear of the bulb housing.

Rotate the base of the old bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise to unlock it.

Pull Out Old Fog Bulb

Press Release Tab

Power Plug Disconnected
Pull the old bulb straight out of the housing.

Press in the release tab on the electrical connector before sliding it straight off the base of the old bulb.

Empty Bulb Housing
Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay.

If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with an alcohol moistened paper towel.

Insert New H11 Bulb

1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock
Insert a new # H11 bulb in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place.

Push On Power Plug

New Fog Bulb Installed

Test New Fog Light Bulb
Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new bulb until it clicks securely in to place.

Test the new light bulbs by turning on the headlights and activating the fog light switch.
