automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016
Toyota Yaris in changing a burnt out license plate light bulb. Owners of other Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Corolla, Matrix, Prius, Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part number is 2825. You can also use a brighter 2825 LED bulb. The only tool needed to access and replace the bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver. |

Old Light Bulb Exposed |
Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Insert the
screwdriver in to one of the notches on the sides of the license plate light
bulb lens cover. Gently move the screwdriver towards the other side of the lens cover to release the retaining clip. You may need to re-insert the screwdriver in to the other notch and pry again to release the lens cover. Pull off the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. If the old bulb was recently turned on, be careful since it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |

Line Up Lens Cover |
Push a new #
2825 light bulb in to the socket. You can also use a brighter LED unit. |

Test New License Lights |
Line up the lens
cover and gently pop it back in to place. Double check that the lens cover is secure. Test the new license plate light bulbs by turning on the headlights or by pressing the "Unlock" button on the key fob to activate the exterior lights. For more,
