| The 2010
University of Florida Homecoming Parade took place on Friday,
October 15th 2010. It began at 12 noon right after the
Gator Gallop Fun Run and ended at around 3 PM. This year's parade was the 87th occurrence of the annual event which joined the UF Homecoming Weekend festivities in 1923. Alachua County public schools, UF and some local businesses closed to give everyone a chance to enjoy the parade. More than eighty thousand spectators lined up along University Avenue from Gale Lemerand Drive to Main Street in Downtown Gainesville. A group of Alachua County Sheriff, UPD and GPD law enforcement officers on Harley Davidson motorcycles started off the parade with a talented display of their riding skills. |

| Some of the other highlights of the parade included the Gainesville Fire Department, Gainesville Police Department, University Police Dept, Alachua County Sheriff's Dept, the UF Mascots Albert & Alberta, the UF 2010 Homecoming Court, the UF Cheerleaders, the UF Gators Dazzlers dancing team, the UF Color Guard team, the UF Marching Band, the U.S. Marines hummer, the Gainesville Roller Rebels roller derby team, and the Shriners in their mini Nascar go karts. | ||
