This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017) Volkswagen Tiguan SUV in changing the rear window wiper blade on the back windshield.

Owners of other VW or Audi vehicles such as the Jetta, Passat, CC, Atlas, Touareg, Golf, Beetle, A3, S3, RS 3, A4, S4, A5, A6, S6, A7, S7, RS 7, A8, Q3, Q5, TT and Q7 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM rear window wiper blade size in inches is 13" and the part number is Bosch W0133-1908844.

A few other compatible replacement rear wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch A330H, Trico 13-G, Valeo 13V and Anco AR13G.

No tools are required to remove and replace the wiper blade.

Rotate Away Wiper Blade

Pull & Rotate Forward
The first step is to lift the rear wiper arm off the back windshield window until it remains in the raised position by itself.

Then rotate the old wiper blade away form the wiper arm at a slight angle.

Firmly pull the center of the wiper blade assembly out and also push it forward towards the window.

You'll see a small gap open up in between the wiper arm and the wiper blade mounting bracket.

Bracket Off Mounting Bar
Pull the old wiper blade to the right and away from the wiper arm.

Try to avoid using excessive force. It should pop off relatively easily.

If you have trouble removing the old wiper blade, it is because the procedure is not very intuitive. It will seem simple once you do it one time.

Just take a moment to study the other pictures on this page that show the "C" shaped socket and hooks on the wiper blade and the plastic mounting bar at the end of the wiper arm.

I recommend buying the original VW OEM part which is a Bosch W0133-1908844 rear wiper blade.

For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the back windshield and applying a glass treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X.

Be sure to record the rear wiper blade change in your SUV's service records.
