The Yamato
Scrub Natural Area is a relatively new recreational park, which was
opened in October 2007 on a 217 acre tract of land in southern Palm
Beach County. Volunteers restored the area back into a natural scrub environment by planting thousands of native trees and removing a large quantity of sand. Yamato Scrub has a small and free parking lot that is open to visitors from sunrise to sunset every day of the year. It's located at 701 Clint Moore Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33487. The park's two major features are a 2.4 mile hiking trail and a shorter paved nature trail. Some of the animals that can be seen at Yamato Scrub include the Arctic peregrine falcon, the wood stork, the eastern indigo snake, the Florida mouse, and the gopher tortoise. |
