I got a letter from General Motors a few days ago concerning a recall that was issued for my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, which features the 3800 Series II 3.8L V6 engine with an Eaton M90 Supercharger. From what I read in the notice, there is a faulty valve cover gasket that can allow motor oil seepage. Those drops of oil can be deposited on the hot exhaust manifolds under hard braking conditions and cause an engine fire.<\/p>\n
Here’s a list of the parts they replaced for this recall which was named “Campaign 07035”.<\/p>\n
