This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the second generation (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022) Mazda CX-5 SUV in changing the rear wiper blade on the back windshield window.<\/span><\/p>\n

Owners of other Mazda vehicles such as the CX-3, CX-30, CX-7, CX-9, Mazda3, Mazda6, MX-30, MX-5 Miata, Mazda2, CX-4, CX-8 and BT-50 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.<\/span><\/p>\n

The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) rear wiper blade part number is\u00a0Mazda KD47-67-330<\/a><\/b>\u00a0(also known as KD4767330) and it is 14″ (fourteen inches) in length.<\/span><\/p>\n

A few compatible replacement aftermarket 14″ rear wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows:\u00a0Bosch H352<\/a><\/b>\u00a0(3397011430),\u00a0Michelin 9514<\/a><\/b>,\u00a0Silblade RB114-A<\/a><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Motium R05-14<\/a><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

No tools are needed to remove and replace the rear wiper blade.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first step is to gently pull the “C” shaped plastic cover off the base of the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Removing the cover will allow the wiper arm to more easily articulate away from the back window.<\/span><\/p>\n

Set the plastic cap aside in a safe place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carefully raise the rear wiper arm off the back windshield.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Continue gently rotating the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until it is just about perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle) with the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

You should feel and\/or hear the mounting bar in the center of the old wiper blade pop out of the “C” shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lift the old blade off the end of the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take a moment to examine the condition of the “C” shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm for any wear or damage.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you need to replace a damaged rear wiper arm, the OEM part number is\u00a0Mazda L206-67-421<\/a><\/b>\u00a0(also known as L20667421).<\/span><\/p>\n

I recommend buying the\u00a0Bosch H352<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>rear wiper blade since it has excellent reviews from many other CX-5 owners.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you prefer to have the original OEM blade, the part number is\u00a0Mazda KD47-67-330<\/a><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Line up the new wiper blade at an angle with the wiper arm as shown in the picture above.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rubber blade should be pointing out away from the back window.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lower the mounting bar in the center of the blade into the “C” shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gently and carefully pop the mounting bar into the socket.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rotate the blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lower the new blade back down to the window.<\/span><\/p>\n

Double check that the new blade feels like it securely attached to the wiper arm.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the best wiper performance, I highly recommend cleaning off the window and then applying a glass treatment product that will repel water such as\u00a0Rain-X<\/a><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Be sure to write down the blade change in your SUV’s service records.<\/span><\/p>\n
