Times Square and
Central Park, we walked over to visit the nearby American Museum of
Natural History. The museum is located on the central western side of the park near the intersection of 79th Street and Central Park West in Manhattan, New York City, NY 10024. Visitors are welcome at the American Museum of Natural History every day of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day from 10 AM to 5:45 PM. To reach the staff by phone, call (212) 769-5100. The "suggested" general admission prices start at $16 for adults, $9 for children, and $12 for seniors or students. An additional fee is required for entrance into the Rose Center, Earth & Space, IMAX films, the Hayden Planetarium Space Show and other special exhibitions. |

The museum features a number of permanent halls spread across four floors that are always on display including the Iridescent Opals, the Rare Jade Slab, the Iridescent Ammolite, the Grand Gallery, the Anne & Bernard Spitzer Hall of Human Origins, Spectacular Stibnite, the Fossil Halls, the Arthur Ross Hall of Meteorites, the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, the Gottesman Hall of Planet Earth, the Culture Halls, the Mammal Halls, the Bird Halls, the Hall of Biodiversity, the Akeley Gallery, and North American Forests. | ||
