Bay Cove
Motel Review - Key Largo, FL
A traveler's review and pictures from a
stay at the Bay Cove Motel located in Key Largo, Monroe County, Florida.
The Bay Cove
Motel is a small and simple place of lodging with just eleven units. It
is located on Key Largo, which is the largest and northernmost of the
Florida Keys. We stayed at the Bay Cove Motel for a total of two nights in February during South Florida's warm and sunny "winter". The cost was $83.63 per night for the quaint "studio" unit attached to the manager's office. I chose the Bay Cove Motel for the reasonable rate (in comparison to other accommodations in Key Largo), its proximity to the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, and complimentary use of the hotel's kayaks. We found that the managers were friendly and helpful during our brief stay. The "studio" room was slightly dated but also quiet, clean and exactly what we expected for the excellent price. |

As I mentioned, one
of the major reasons we chose the Bay Cove Motel was that the hotel had
several double (tandem) and single kayaks that guests could use free of
charge.
We looked up kayak rental rates for our trip before heading down to Key Largo and found that they ranged from about $15 to $20 per hour. So we were able to explore the Buttonwood Sound and Sunset Cove bodies of water behind the hotel without adding any extra expense to our weekend getaway. |

Overall, the Bay Cove Motel was a great place to rest our heads at night after a long day of snorkeling, (free) kayaking or exploring the other attractions in Key Largo. | ||
