| The
Bridgewater Channel canal, more commonly known as just "The Channel",
is a man made body of water that connects Thomson Bay to
Lake Havasu. Bridgewater Channel was created in part to put the famous London Bridge to good use, since it originally spanned nothing but sand when it was moved from London to Lake Havasu City in 1968. The Channel is the number one gathering place for boaters visiting Lake Havasu on the Arizona side. Copper Canyon holds that title over on California's side of the lake. Many boaters park on the small beach areas on each side of The Channel while others go "cruising" by to show off their custom boats. The best view of The Channel can be had by walking over The London Bridge that overlooks the area. |
