Samsung ATIV Book 9 NP9003XG 13.3″ Ultrabook Laptop Computer Review

I’ve been using this Samsung ATIV Book 9 ultrabook notebook computer for almost 2 years now.

I’m still amazed by how thin and light the computer is considering the processing power it packs with the Intel i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and a very fast 256GB SSD (solid state) hard drive.

My daily routine involves working with normal office software (Excel, Word, some Photoshop, Premiere, etc) while watching Amazon Prime videos or Time Warner Cable Live TV.

I have my Samsung ATIV Book 9 hooked up to a large Viewsonic 24″ external monitor, a MS Natural keyboard and an external USB mouse.

Unlike my old Toshiba A505, I’ve never had a problem with this laptop over heating and having a thermal shut down even when I’m encoding videos while watching TV and surfing the web.

Some of the other features I really enjoy are the backlit keys on the keyboard, the HDMI out port for connecting the laptop to my HDTV and the very bright 13.3″ display when I travel with the laptop and use it in a bright car or outdoors.

I plan on using this laptop for at least a few more years. I’ll definitely put another Samsung ultrabook at the top of my list. I’m hoping that my next one will have some upgrades like a faster processor, 16GB or 32GB of RAM and at least a 1TB SSD hard drive.

My model doesn’t have a touchscreen and I’ve never really wanted a touchscreen laptop. But some of you may find that to be useful. I believe that there are ATIV books with touchscreens.

I’m still running Windows 7 since I don’t want to interrupt my daily work flow. But it seems like a good OS. I have some limited experience using Win 10 on my wife’s Lenovo Yoga.
