If you need to manually move your 2nd generation 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 Mazda CX-5 SUV due to a weak or dead 12 volt car battery, weak or dead key fob battery or some other mechanical or electrical problem, you’ll have to use the “shift lock release” mechanism. Activating the shift lock release will allow you to change the gear selector from “P” (Park) to “N” (Neutral).
