| During our
visit to Taveuni Island in Fiji, we stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage
at
Bibi's Hideaway for ten nights. Located just a few minutes walking distance down the road to the left from Bibi's main gate was Maravu Beach and a few minutes past that was the scenic Prince Charles Beach. From the popular Coconut Grove Resort, Prince Charles Beach is located about a 15-20 minute walk away from Matei Town. (Turn right as you exit the Coconut Grove gate.) The beach is about 10-15 minutes away from the Taveuni Palms Resort. The snorkeling at Prince Charles Beach is great with a wide variety of colorful fish and iridescent coral. A cyclone (hurricane) had battered Taveuni Island before our visit so we did see lots of dead coral piled up in the water and on the beach. |

| On your way from Matei, Coconut Grove, Taveuni Palms or Bibi's, you'll walk past Tramonto Restaurant located at the top of the hill before Prince Charles Beach. We went to Tramonto one night to enjoy their freshly made pizza and some ice cold Fiji Bitter beers as the sun set behind us into the Pacific Ocean. | ||

| Prince Charles Beach was named after the member of the British Royalty of the same name after he visited this strip of golden sand back in 1970. He traveled to Taveuni Island following the ceremony to hand over independence to Fiji from the United Kingdom. | ||
